Mexican Sugar Skulls

My current work reminds me a little of the sugar skulls that are given as gifts to lost relatives and friends on the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday ( November 2nd - same day as the Catholic's All Souls' days)
Although this was unintentional its defiantly something I want to look more closely at as its such an ancient tradition which has been picked mu by the fashion and tattoo world and brought to a new audience, much like the cameos.

Jewellery designer Tarina Tarantino has a whole range of cameos made from modern materials using sugar skulls, fairy tail and cartoon characters.
